Artist Statement:
I am a utilitarian potter. My work is all about home and making beautiful usable everyday objects.
My career of 30 years of working with fabrics and designing clothing reflects in my clay art. I combine  traditional round thrown forms with  slab built elements. I rip, dart, pinch and sew the tops to pitchers, vases, tea pots and the like.  Sometimes I stamp them with  Indian fabric block prints or incise them with free flowing textile  prints that run off the surface.  Not afraid of color, I love to combine runny, independent glazes with flat, predictable underglazes. Hopefully the future users of my work can feel the joy I feel in making each piece.
